Hello from Sawrey (Miss Potter village)

Far Sawrey lies in rolling farmland and wooded hillsides above Lake Windermere. It is the area where the "Miss Potter" film is based upon. This is a blog from the village shop, which is not dis-similar to the Beatrix Potter Ginger and Pickles Shop here in the heart of the village where Beatrix Potter lived and wrote her world famous stories including "The Tale of Peter Rabbit"

Good Friday Morning from Sunny Sawrey, we had a light shower first thing but the sun has now popped out and its looking like another stunning day. Picked up some new season Jersey Royal Potatoes at the fruity market, its great to get the first batch of them and I cannot wait to have some for dinner tonight with some mint from the garden YUM YUM!!!
A new business has been launched in the Village this week and below is a link posted to the site, http://www.lakelandsegway.co.uk/index.htm bloggers may remember me posting a picture of one of the segway's a customer came to the shop on last summer, well now a hobby has been turned into an innovative business and we wish Rob and Larriaine lots of success with their new venture
A poster has gone up in the window today advertising the village May fayre on the 18th of May
its a great traditional village event and its so lovely to see the children all dancing around the maypole, Sawrey would love to see you if you fancy a day out, those of you who are new to the blog, Sawrey is on the road to the car ferry from Hawkshead
