Hello from Sawrey (Miss Potter village)

Far Sawrey lies in rolling farmland and wooded hillsides above Lake Windermere. It is the area where the "Miss Potter" film is based upon. This is a blog from the village shop, which is not dis-similar to the Beatrix Potter Ginger and Pickles Shop here in the heart of the village where Beatrix Potter lived and wrote her world famous stories including "The Tale of Peter Rabbit"

Good Afternoon from Sawrey, its a wet wet day here in the village although as I type there seems to be a bit of a break in the showers...It is very very quiet in the village today, hilll top is closed and I had to break it to some soggy tourists who had walked here from Windermere!
The pictures above are of some of the new ranges we have here in the shop

Tony and Lorna the blind couple who are staying in near sawrey walked up to the shop with their guide dog again today, they have bought lots of goodies from our store and we are have put them in a box with one of their special address labels on and it can be sent to them for free! I had never heard of this service before but what a great one it is!
Te vegetables remain inside today, they would have been washed away with the rain that was coming down earlier!
There is an article in the local paper asking cumbrians to log their sightings of adders online as part of their "add an adder" survey project, the site can be found at http://www.adder.org.uk/
As I type sally traffic on radio2 is announcing that as a result of an accident on the M6 their are tail back from lancaster to Blackpool! Yikes thats long! I am pleased to announce that there are no traffic jams in Sawrey!
Thats about all for now :-)
PS......I JUST NOTICED THAT THE BLOG COUNTER I PUT ON THE BLOG A MONTH AGO HAS HIT 1850! WOW! THANKYOU ALL FOR STOPPING BY AND READING THE BLOG :-)
