Hello from Sawrey (Miss Potter village)

Far Sawrey lies in rolling farmland and wooded hillsides above Lake Windermere. It is the area where the "Miss Potter" film is based upon. This is a blog from the village shop, which is not dis-similar to the Beatrix Potter Ginger and Pickles Shop here in the heart of the village where Beatrix Potter lived and wrote her world famous stories including "The Tale of Peter Rabbit"

Good Afternoon from far sawrey........I am pleased to report that it has been a blue sky day all day today, quite cold but clear and dry!!! it makes such a difference and reminds us that there is life outside the rain bubble that we have been in for the past month...

Its been a steady day here in the shop, mother nearly back to full health so we have delayed the decorating for another week, we are both still deaf in one ear from the virus, good job its my right ear and her left, we can still hear each other, just! :-)

Just had a visit from the robin who lives in the garden, he casually hopped into the shop, found a crumb of food and hopped back to the door ledge where he sat munching away for a few minutes! Very relaxed!

I have been trying to tweek the magazines that we sell here at the shop, we kept been sent lots of celebrity magazines that never sold...today I am pleased to report that we have for sale.... Cumbria Life mag... Country Living mag...Homes and Gardens...and The Lady!!! plus a selection of tv mags and a small selection of celebrity mags...

Last year we sold a range of Walls Ice creams, mainly Magnums which were a top seller.....this season we have decided to also sell a lake district ice cream called "English Lakes Ice Cream" it is one of the most delicious ice creams that I have ever tasted and their real fruit sorbets are absolutely fabulous... below is a link to their site to browse and dream about those long hot summer days ahead of us!
